Combinamos t\u00e9cnicas anat\u00f3micas con electrofisiol\u00f3gicas que nos permiten explorar la estructura y funci\u00f3n de la unidad fundamental del SNC que es la neurona.<\/p>\n<p>Nuestros proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n est\u00e1n enfocados en el an\u00e1lisis de las alteraciones en la excitabilidad neuronal. De manera particular nos interesa entender el fen\u00f3meno de la epileptog\u00e9nesis. Para lo cual desarrollamos modelos de epilepsia experimental y hacemos estudios electrofisiol\u00f3gicos con los que podemos valorar la actividad funcional de una sola neurona o un conjunto de ellas. Usamos varios paradigmas in vivo e in vitro que incluyen el electroencefalograma (EEG), los potenciales provocados, el registro intracelular y el registro de corrientes i\u00f3nicas mediante la t\u00e9cnica de whole cell.
